About Us
her story
Our story starts way back
In September 2019 while reading course material of Master degree of women studies in Patiala, we got the opportunity to discuss at length the great text of Shulamith Firestone. Her feminist manifesto, The Dialectic of Sex: The Case for Feminist Revolution had shocked our notions and understanding of the deep rooted patriarchal society. This motivated and inspired us to do some constructive things about the gender issues around us. Yuhwe was born out of those conversations and still on its way to find answers for the questions which were never asked.

Kewal is a good listener who wishes to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds. He survives on reading poetry and philosophy. He is always up for a deep conversation on philosophical ideas and issues. Something that he has learnt in the long run and humbly advises everybody to follow is that, “It is necessary to stay connected with grass-root realities, keeping a check on people around us and small acts of empathy can make one unique from others.” Tea, friends and the internet have become indispensable parts of his life, and he claims that getting disconnected from them for a long time might result in his neurological circuit crash.
He has an academic background in Social Sciences as an undergraduate student from Punjabi university Patiala. He then pursued a Bachelor of Law from Panjab University Chandigarh, while doing his law he landed into the Yuhwe. Working on grass-root problems while interacting with students from rural border areas he got a great learning experience and joy. He also completed a Post graduate diploma in Liberal studies from Ashoka University.
He is a Young India Fellow from the batch of 2022, which gave him an opportunity to meet and learn from the brightest minds and highly motivated socially conscious leaders and change makers.
